After leaving Birmingham University, and spending a few years working for HMRC, Steve knew that it was time for him to move on and decided to join a large accountancy practice in the City of London, specialising in (no surprises here) tax!
Having had enough of working in non-creative environments, Steve looked for a firm which would provide him with the challenges he had been seeking and the freedom to explore his ideas, whilst providing with him with a strong work ethic. Steve identified Barnes Roffe as the firm that would give him these opportunities.
Within 2 years of joining Barnes Roffe, in March 1987 he was promoted to Head of Tax. There was no looking back, and Steve has since specialised in tax planning for our SME owner managed client companies. Steve is now not just the Head of Tax, but also the Managing Partner of the East London office and Senior Partner of the firm. In addition, Steve is a regular speaker at various seminars and forums. Outside of work, Steve has probably one of the most unusual hobbies of all the partners – he is a keen pig and chicken farmer!
