1. When do you start taking applications for your aca accountant training schemes?
We generally aim to process accountant trainee applications before the beginning of the new academic year (between June and September); however we greatly welcome applications all year round. Our graduate training scheme is not just restricted to aca accounting. We also offering training for acca accounting and for many of our other specialist niches.

2. Do you offer graduate trainee accountancy jobs at the end of your training schemes?
Yes. When we recruit for accountant trainees we do so with the intention of training future Barnes Roffe accountant partners. Every year we take on 33 new graduates and at the end of their training we offer them the chance to join our team and take up one of our many graduate accountancy jobs/positions.
We are proud of our reputation for being one of the best finance jobs for graduates, and we hope to maintain this title for many years to come.
3. What accounting services do you offer?
At Barnes Roffe we pride ourselves on our diversity and over the years we have picked up many unique specialism’s, including: tax planning, corporate finance, film accounting, auditing, financial audits, ecommerce accounting and UK subsidiaries.

4. If you are looking for Partners to train, do you accept external applications for tax accountant jobs?
Of course! We welcome applications from all sources, for all of our accounting firms. We have positions for aca and acca qualified jobs/applicants and are always looking to expand our teams’ range of specialisms.
5. Are your accounting seminars available to the general public?
Although our seminars are primarily designed for our clients; we do have a number of places for non-clients. So if you request a place and are a non-client, a member of our seminars team will let you know asap if we have one available for you.
Our accounting seminars cover a vast variety of topics, so if you are interested in attending, why not speak to one of tax advisors or contact us directly to speak about our seminars.
6. Do you only take on clients who need accounting in London?
Our offices may be located in the South, but we aim to offer our accounting services across the entire breadth of the UK.
In fact it is one of the many reasons why we ensure our website has so many resources. To ensure that our clients can easily contact us online, as well as by phone and by email.

8. What is VAT charged on?
Commonly known as Value Added Tax, this is charged on most business transactions in the UK and is applicable to most goods/services.

9. What is the current VAT rate?
For the current tax year 2009/10, the standard rate is 15%; however this is set to change on the 1st January 2010 where it will rise to 17.5%.
