Barnes Roffe Cycle Sportive

Late September saw us hold the inaugural “BR cycle sportive” starting and finishing at Berkhamsted Golf Club.  The keen cyclists of the firm including partners Nigel Goodman, Simon Liggins and Adam Dodds hosted an eclectic mix of cycling clients and contacts from across all three of our offices.  Senior Partner, Mario Cientanni, was present throughout the day to dish out much needed moral support but failed a late fitness test himself which ruled him out from taking part in the main event.

Expertly guided through 50 miles of the demanding but beautiful Chiltern Hills by our professional organising team, Njinga Cycling, we enjoyed a fabulous day of cycling with glorious autumnal whether to boot.

Groups arranged according to a range of abilities ensured that no-one got left behind and made for a safe and swift passage through any tricky hotspots.  Those still with energy to burn were able to let fly on the timed Strava segment for the day, the notorious “Whiteleaf Hill”, with gradients reaching 20%.  The faces in the pictures say it all.

Once back in the sanctuary of the clubhouse, rest and relaxation was the order of the day – as well as some good food, drink and conversation.

2019 here we come….
